B2B Brokerage Firm
An Irish B2B brokerage helps business customers secure the most competitive rates by negotiating directly with a wide range of suppliers on their behalf. Acting as an intermediary, the brokerage simplifies the procurement process and ensures clients receive the best available deals.
Each week, it receives and processes hundreds of customer sale contracts submitted by a nationwide network of field agents. These contracts - often handwritten and accompanied by supporting documentation - required the sales operations team to manually extract and enter key information into Excel spreadsheets for further processing.
This was a time-consuming and error-prone exercise that slowed down the sales process. A lack of real-time reporting was also limiting management’s ability to respond quickly.
Inpute was approached to help build a bespoke application leveraging the Microsoft Power Platform that could reduce errors, save time and lay a foundation for broader digital transformation. A solution was designed, built and deployed within 3 months of engagement.
Inpute delivered a low-code solution that automated the data capture process and automated the processing of new customer contracts. The custom application was built using Microsoft’s Power Platform with low incremental licensing costs for the Brokerage firm which was already a Microsoft user. The solution was built and deployed within 3 months allowing the customer to enjoy immediate benefits.
Customer contracts and supporting documentation now arrive via email and are automatically processed through intelligent document processing (IDP) software, extracting key datapoints like customer personal information, product sold and agent details. A typical contract requires 8+ key datapoints to be automatically extracted.
The extracted data is routed through a workflow process to automatically calculate commissions and expected revenue from that sale. Once approved, information is stored in a central database and a daily report is automatically sent to management each day containing sales figures from the previous 24-hour period.
The solution includes an integrated reporting dashboard for the sales operations team to manage commission rates, conduct revenue assurance and ensure sales are properly reconciled with 3rd parties.
