Captaris, the developers behind RightFax, have announced that they have signed an agreement to acquire Information Management Research (IMR).

The combination of IMR and Captaris will enable Captaris to provide complete solutions for Business Information Delivery, Business Process Automation and Documents and Records Management. The transaction is expected to close in October.

"Captaris and IMR had reached an OEM agreement earlier this year whereby IMR would OEM Captaris Teamplate to add workflow functionally to their Alchemy product family. This new module is one of a range of new modules and enhancements being released in Alchemy v8, which is due out in early November."

"By integrating their various products, Captaris will now be able to offer a comprehensive suite of integrated products from document delivery, through to business process automation/workflow to document and records management. This in turn allows Inpute Technologies to address the simplest, to the most comprehensive customer requirements, with a suite of products from the one supplier with whom we have a long established and strong partnership."
