Inpute Technologies announce that their range of Cardiff Software
now supports Compaq Tablet PC.
Cardiffs eForm automation solution can be combined with the TC1000
to provide remote knowledge workers with increased levels of mobility
and productivity. The combined solution will be targeted to form-driven
industries, such as government, finance/insurance and healthcare, which
utilise a highly mobile workforce.
Knowledge workers taking advantage of the combined solution will be
able to use LiquidOffice to easily complete, route and sign electronic
forms directly from the Tablet PC using a keyboard or handwriting and
submit them over a standard Web browser. In addition to wired access,
the application can be accessed locally via an available wireless connection,
while access outside of a local area can be made available through a third-party
wireless service. The form can then be electronically routed according
to workflow processes for approvals, database updates and automated request
transactions. Based on form-driven requirements, LiquidOffice can also
deliver a rapid response to the TC1000 unit from a wide range of backend
applications.
Making full use of open standards to promote interoperability and facilitate
user adoption, Cardiff LiquidOffice utilises established Web-based form
technologies, such as HTML, PDF and XML. LiquidOffice also takes advantage
of the mobile environment made possible by its out-of-the box compatibility
with the Microsoft® Windows XP Tablet PC Edition® platform.
The
Compaq TC1000 Tablet PC brings portable computing to a new level of convenience.
About the size of a standard sheet of paper, less than one-inch thick
and weighing only three pounds, the unit has the capabilities of a full-function
desktop PC, with the added benefit of unmatched versatility. It can function
using its own retractable keyboard and built-in mouse or as a tablet,
using a digital pen to capture, store and retrieve handwritten documents
in their original form. In an office setting, an external keyboard, mouse
and monitor can be attached to stage the unit for complete desktop use.
